K161 fuel pump on 702

Recommended Posts

Anybody got a picture of a correct fuel pump for a k161

Took my engine apart the fuel pump that is on it has a straight curved upped shaft

It does not ride on the lobe of the cam

I don't have another engine to pull one from to see what's going on.

I wonder if this is the reason why the tractor I have was just set out to rust away ,no way it ever pumped anything lol

I'm figuring there is a offset type shaft for them

maybe I will be able to heat it up and bend it

Thanks for any help

If that's the original engine I'm thinking  there's no contact on the cam.

That's a vacuum pulse type pump.

No arm needed.....

Well that would make since I'm thinking it was replaced fuel pump. I looked at another 8hp engine I saw it was missing the arm thought it was a part salvaged pump so looking at what you say it is in fact a pulse pump never knew they exsisted thanks for the info

If it isn't working you can get a rebuild kit from @buckrancher Brian.

I learned about the pulse (vacuum?) fuel pump a few years ago when I was working on an 854 for a friend. I pulled the leaking pump and gadzooks!!!! there's no arm. The guys here set me straight and a new diaphragm from Brian and I was good to go. :)

I'd be interested to see if a fuel pump body off a K341 could be converted into a pulse and used on a K161 I have. :confusion-confused:

Yeah I looked at the one and thought they was just plugging the hole with a defected pump lol
