help, I think I broke my steering shaft

Hi All,

we had some great weather in CT after a long while and I wanted to get out on my 312-8! Unfortunately, I hit a rock and now I can’t turn. I think I may have blown my steering rod/fan gear? Any help on replacement parts and directions would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Looks like yours has been cracked at the weld for awhile.

Dave has a good suggestion above.

Easy bolt-in replacement.

Hi Friends, I’m replacing my lower steering shaft and I can’t figure out how to remove it. I’ve got it all unbolted and the cotter pin in the back is out. Seems like there isn’t enough wiggle room to pop out the old one? What am I missing? Do I need to remove motor?

It's been years since I changed one. You will probably have to loosen the collar on the upper steering shaft and remove the steering support at the bottom.

Yup raise the steering wheel shaft and unbolt the support and it will practically fall out
