What did you do today?

Hey, speaking of computers, I’m old enough to have played computer games that needed a C prompt RUN command in DOS. The Manhole was one of them. It didn’t move much. mostly still images that swapped when you did something like move to another room, or opened a drawer. I was a junior in high school when the internet took off.

As far as what I did today, I was supposed to work but they were over staffed so I came home. I then worked on the C-141 and hung out with family to 6. I might have the starting issue figured out. I don’t have to go in tomorrow until 1. so maybe I’ll try to start it tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: As of 7:30 pm I got it to turn the engine over from the key. Tomorrow I’m going to button things up before work and maybe take it for a spin.

Put the boat in the water, first time this year. Took a sloooow ride around the local lake with my wife. Taking it up to Maine next week and need to be sure it’s “OK”..you know how boats can be
Nice restaurant that you can pull up to.. maybe next time.
Note: I’m wearing a Wheel Horse shirt, always representing!

Incredibly busy day today!!
I was so tired from hiking yesterday I was in bed and out cold by 7:30 PM.
This morning I was outside in the barn by 5 AM.
After the shelf moving project I built this wall for the new workshop space AC.

Yup.  We put our pontoon a week ago.  Didn't run long enough to get from the boat launch to our dock.  Water pump was working fine when we took it out last fall.  Somehow it managed to fail while it was in winter storage.

I found a rebuild kit, but have not had time to install it yet.

Yep, your right! Long Pond.
Is the Hannifords you work at close to where I’ll be? We’re renting a house so I’m sure there will be a grocery run made at some point.

Pretty close, everything is a drive up here. if you’re coming through Augusta, there’s a few there. Mine is in China, it’s roughly 15 -20 minutes away from Somerville.

That reminds me.  I'll have to pick up another 10mm combo wrench.  Going to neet it when I get around to working on the outboard.

Replaced the lid to the septic tank I hit with the tractor

Thank goodness for 4WD.  Left front wheel was in the tank riser.

(Thank goodness for tank risers, too!) 😩👃💩

Today I also spread a couple of yards of topsoil, evening out the lawn, and smoothing over exposed roots.

Returned home this afternoon after two nights camping with the 11 and 10 year old grandkids.  We ate a lot of hot dogs and mac & cheese.  All cooking was done outside over firepit or Coleman camp stove. No video games but we did watch a movie each night. We rode a few miles on bicycles.  We fished, waded in the lake, skipped stones in the lake, took walks and engaged in conversation.

Discussions included the need for flies (and the maggot's place in medical use).  Wasps (these two have unusual fear of wasps) and what they are good for?  They were in awe when one came inside the camper, and I was able to allow it to land and walk around on my hand before it flew outside without stinging me. Once question raised was "Will it sting me if I try to pet it?"   Why does the "leaves of three--leave them be" plant (poison ivy) make us itch and a host of other question surrounding this plant.  "How can that snake swim?"

"Can we go camping again and stay five nights next time pawpaw?  Not likely to stay five nights but we will go again before they out grow pawpaw.  The cab of the  pickup was mighty quiet coming home with heavy eyes and their heads bobbing with each curve.  I think I wore them out--I was!

If you zoom in, you should be able to see the rather large stone skipping.  We settled for catching three inch long bluegill--might as well be record keepers.

I did a lot of spuddle today.

It would help if I had all the parts for any one of the 5 jobs I'm sitting on at work.
