8ntruck 9,355 #10228 Posted Saturday at 04:13 AM I got the wiring to my '72 C10's ignition switch wire harness reassembled today. I located the Packard 56 terminals at the local NAPA store and ended up ordering a roll over crimping tool from Summit Racing. They are selling it under the Painless brand. Works well. The crimp looks just like the factory crimp. It passed the smoke test when I hooked up the battery. 3
8ntruck 9,355 #10229 Posted Saturday at 04:27 AM (edited) A couple pictures of this week's work in our Ky woods. The camper after we dropped it down the hill and got it back up the hill to the Mrs 8n approved level spot: A shot of the storage shed and the new camp bath house. The original position of the camper was just out of the left side of the picture. Oh, yea - the camper's toung jack caster wheel has been replaced with a foot. That, and the four stabilizing jacks on the trailer will go a long way to prevent the 'runaway trailer' syndrome we had the other day. Chemical toilet and propane/battery/pump inline water heater for hot shower. We are starting out with a HF Predator solar pannel and power station as a learning experience. We will probably upgrade to something larger in the future. We've also got a 3500 watt gas powered generator that will end up on the Ky property eventually. Once we start building a permanent building, we will hook up to the county water system and power. Edited Saturday at 09:11 PM by 8ntruck

I didn't take any pictures and everything is reinstalled under the dash, so taking pictures isn't really doable. Try a search on Packsrd 56 terminals abd see if any pictures turn up.

We've been considering what to do for the new upta camp land. One possible bug advantage for us is that Maine still "grandfathers" outhouses built before a certain point. Our new land has an old off grid residence. If we can find a location of the original outhouse, we may be able to rebuild it.

Sparky-(Admin) 26,522 #10245 Posted 9 hours ago Made a run up to New Hampshire for $134 of ethanol free fuel. Had my wife and my mom with me for this trip. So it also entailed a stop at the Vermont Country Deli, cool place but it was a mob scene, was hard to find a parking spot for my bright red truck ..dropped the ladies off while I circled the place till I saw someone’s reverse lights pop on! Ethanol free is only offered in the higher octane.

It actually goes pretty quick with all four of us working. 17 lbs of burgers, a few roasts and steaks for our freezer, and I took a pack of shoulder steaks over to our neighbors. They have kind of a tough lot in life, and I like to do stuff like that for them when I can.
c-series don 12,532 #10248 Posted 6 hours ago Over the past few days I cleaned out my garage and painted the floor. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and with no rain in forecast I figured now was the time. It looked like I was having a yard sale in my driveway! I also took this opportunity to throw some stuff out that I haven’t used in years. Next I will clean off the work benches and paint those as well. I just wanted to get the floor done while it was warm out. 3
