cleat 9,380 #10202 Posted Friday at 05:44 PM Got the 72" snow blower mounted on my big tractor today. Hopefully it will not be used any time soon but it is ready. I only used this setup once last winter when the snow was too deep for my 520HC and plow to deal with. That reminds me, the 520HC and plow are also ready to go. It just needs a wash to get the dust off that accumulated from sitting in the storage building all summer. 2
8ntruck 9,331 #10203 Posted Saturday at 12:57 AM (edited) We've been at our Ky location for a few days working in our woods. We got the A Liner camper set up, and have a list of small projects to work on this trip. Today's major chore to take the 16' utility trailer into town to pick up some building supplies turned into anadventure. No problem to and from town. I took the trailer to the end of the driveway to unload it. No problems there. Nowhere to turn the Ram 1500/16' trailer combo around, so I'm thinking back the rig out. Go slow and no problem. After all, it is only a couple hundred yards. Made it about half way, when I lost track of the back wheels on the truck and dropped the left rear off the edge of the road. Had the left wheel at full drop and the right rear at full rise. No traction to lift myself out. EJ the 8N to the rescue! Hooked up with a 3/8" chain, had Mrs 8N in the truck to feed a bit of throttle when EJ started pulling, and out it came. I clamped the receiver hitch onto the MF's fel and pushed the trailer the rest of the way. Got to look into installing tow hooks on the Ram. Sparky-(Admin) 26,490 #10204 Posted Sunday at 07:44 PM Little red-neck engineering took place today. Wanted a ramp for the new shed that wasn’t permanent since I won’t be moving things in/out very often. Needed to be lightweight and easily stored out of the weather. Came up with this using plastic car ramps. Tested out perfect!! 2

Blue Chips 869 #10206 Posted Monday at 01:58 PM Busy day yesterday. As usual, several of our neighbors helped me pull our dock out of the water and get it on our trailer. It usually takes about six people, and at least a dozen of our neighbors showed up. A few days ago, I and our neighbors got together and pulled three of their docks out of the water. Removing and installing the docks has become a regular biannual neighborhood 'event.' Here are four of my neighbors helping out, piloting our dock down from our place with our 6 hp outboard for propulsion, and then floating it onto our trailer. We had nice weather and a rising tide, so there was very little current in the river, which always makes it easier to remove or install the dock. Here's the dock back home and sitting on our trailer, As always, I used one of our little tractors, in this case my New Holland (aka, blue Wheel Horse), to shuttle the dock paraphernalia back and forth between our house and the dock. Still more prep work to do in the garages and yard before winter. 1
ebinmaine 80,895 #10207 Posted Monday at 10:04 PM As stated previously, the BBT and I have been looking at possibilities for a small amount of land a couple hours/ 100 miles ish northeast of home. We go to the Weld and Carthage ME area usually twice a year. We go to a place about 40 miles northeast of Greenville ME once or twice a year. We've been wanting to explore and hike more up towards the Carrabasett Valley area. Trina's been looking off n' on for several years. A few weeks ago we found a neat little hopefully quiet spot in Mercer Maine. Today we signed an offer for purchase. If all goes right we'll own it within 2 to 3 weeks. 7

Trina and I will each have one there. Also several implements which we already have two of. Snow plows. Mid mount grader blade. Mackissic chipper shredder. Some sort of trailers.
ohiofarmer 3,508 #10210 Posted yesterday at 09:28 PM WE took our monthly fuel fill up to Richmond Indiana Kroger to use our fuel points. thirty five gallons at 2.99 which is 25 percent off. That fuel will take us 1400 miles. I needed some stuff from menards and on the way to finding it, i found eighteen ounce spray cans of Knock Er Loose penetrant for lass than the price of name brand stuff. $4.99 after rebate. i have used it and it works as well as most of them and better than some. It was marked with a special price sticker so I might buy another 2 or 3. The leaves are muted colors so far , but still enjoyed time with the wife when she wasn't making driving suggestions. 2 1
8ntruck 9,331 #10211 Posted 20 hours ago We've been working on a camp shower and toilet building on our Ky. property the last few days. Got it essentially done today. We spent our first night in our woods in our A Liner camper last night. We were planning on spending tonight too, but that didn't work out. The camper was a bit out of level - a slight feet low when laying in bed. I thought it was OK, considering it took a stack of five 2x6's under the left wheel to get it there. Mrs 8n wanted to move it uphill to a much flatter spot for tonight. Didn't work out too well. Did I mention it had to be moved up a fairly steep hill that was really lumpy? We tried using the MF GC 1720 with the hitch C clamped to the FEL bucket. The lession we learned was that the C clamped hitch works well on a smooth, level lawn, it does not work well in the woods. It took a stump, come along, chain, and wheel chocks to retrieve the camper from the puckerbrush when the hitch slipped the C clamps. No, no video, but it would have gotten a bunch of hits on YouTube. We took that as a sign that we should stay at a hotel tonight... 1
