Got the 72" snow blower mounted on my big tractor today.

Hopefully it will not be used any time soon but it is ready.

I only used this setup once last winter when the snow was too deep for my 520HC and plow to deal with.1019376137_Snowblowerontractor20263.JPG.bf076d50b359ac96d3423d4fb1107e0c.JPG

That reminds me, the 520HC and plow are also ready to go. It just needs a wash to get the dust off that accumulated from sitting in the storage building all summer.

We've been at our Ky location for a few days working in our woods.  We got the A Liner camper set up, and have a list of small projects to work on this trip.  Today's major chore to take the 16' utility trailer into town to pick up some building supplies turned into anadventure.  No problem to and from town.  I took the trailer to the end of the driveway to unload it.  No problems there.  Nowhere to turn the Ram 1500/16' trailer combo around, so I'm thinking back the rig out. Go slow and no problem.  After all, it is only a couple hundred yards. Made it about half way, when I lost track of the back wheels on the truck and dropped the left rear off the edge of the road.  Had the left wheel at full drop and the right rear at full rise.  No traction to lift myself out.

EJ the 8N to the rescue!  Hooked up with a 3/8" chain, had Mrs 8N in the truck to feed a bit of throttle when EJ started pulling, and out it came.

I clamped the receiver hitch onto the MF's fel and pushed the trailer the rest of the way.

Got to look into installing tow hooks on the Ram.

Little red-neck engineering took place today. Wanted a ramp for the new shed that wasn’t permanent since I won’t be moving things in/out very often. Needed to be lightweight and easily stored out of the weather.
Came up with this using plastic car ramps. Tested out perfect!!

Blue Chips

Busy day yesterday. As usual, several of our neighbors helped me pull our dock out of the water and get it on our trailer. It usually takes about six people, and at least a dozen of our neighbors showed up. A few days ago, I and our neighbors got together and pulled three of their docks out of the water. Removing and installing the docks has become a regular biannual neighborhood 'event.'

Here are four of my neighbors helping out, piloting our dock down from our place with our 6 hp outboard for propulsion, and then floating it onto our trailer. We had nice weather and a rising tide, so there was very little current in the river, which always makes it easier to remove or install the dock.

Here's the dock back home and sitting on our trailer,

As always, I used one of our little tractors, in this case my New Holland (aka, blue Wheel Horse), to shuttle the dock paraphernalia back and forth between our house and the dock.

Still more prep work to do in the garages and yard before winter.
