What did you do today?

Spent a happy afternoon in the workshop fitting a set of solid engine mounts to the C-125. Courtesy of Mickwhitt.

  Covered a few miles yesterday.

   12-30pm phone call. Eldest daughter. Locked out of her car somewhere in the Lake District, where she and a friend were wild swimming. They'd the bright idea of locking the car, an Audi, and hiding the keys in the boot/trunk leaving that unlocked. Doesn't work does it. Boot open, lock car, place keys in boot, shut boot. Which of course automatically locks. Clothes, phones etc inside. Blondes!

 Lady lent her, her phone to call me. Collected her spare keys and number 3 son and of to the rescue.

 

  I got home for 3-30pm just in time for a phone call from the farm. So from 4 to 10pm I was driving a tractor and trailer, leading silage from field to farm.

I had a delightful afternoon, scraping weeds out of the block paving path at the side of my house.

Sounds terrible but I had test match special on the wireless listening to the west indies V England.  

OK we lost but it was a great game.

 I spent 12 hours driving from fields to farm with loads of grass.

I am treating the Suburban to an oil change and transmission flush after a faithful ‘cross country trip hauling that truck.

 Short day on the farm today. Just 6 hrs continuous back and forth. But that's it for this year. Silage pits both full.

I have been reorganizing my shop for some time now and I finally finished the stock metal rack and bins.

Wish my metal was as well laid out!

 

Cut the grass on our community patch and plumbed in a new radiator at my brothers house. Just spent an hour cleaning up a spray paint drying unit that I got from an aution for 20 pounds, I'll sell it on for a profit hopefully.

  More tractor and grass. Smaller scale though. Mowed green and verges with the C-125. Hadn't been done for two weeks  and the grass had got long and thick. Plus it was still wet from rain yesterday. Third low and sometimes second low. Usually first high or third low.

  Hitched up the lawn sweeper and cleaned up.

Mostly bathroom fitting and plumbing this week.

Did a few small jobs but not much.

Sandra is making cloth face masks for when our wearing law comes in next week. 

The mower with no air filter sounds like it may have died so it will be back on the bench tomorrow.

 Bit of a none day. Tidied a shelf, well half a shelf, in the store shed. Mowed the lawn and that's about it.

Do you think it is a worthwhile upgrade? Mine shake like anything on the old rubber mounts.

Nice quiet Sunday, bit of cricket on the wireless. 

Then the poorly mower came in for an examination.  Turns out they don't run on water! Someone put water in the fuel tank, I suspect her ex boyfriend who still has access to the house and has a warped sense of humour. Drained, cleaned, new fuel, runs like a good un.

Back to the 🏏 cricket. 

Until sane woman rang, can you pop down and look at my sons house, he's had a little accident with the barbecue. ....

managed to destroy the soil pipes on both his and his neighbours house, guttering, bins, fences, etc etc.

Can you do anything tonight? 

Yep, I can go listen to the end of the days play 🏏

I hate to criticise the hard of thinking, but this kid did well to manage ringing three 9s when he set fire to the place. 

Had not got a clue and when I said don't use the toilet he couldn't understand why... because, nincompoop, the poo will end up on the garden path!

You blokes all had a real good day.... changed the fuel filters on the Dodge 6.7 Cummings today. Should have known to go at it not bare brested. Soaked my favorite mafia tee with diesel. Dan @Achto says go  snug with the missus when you smell like that.. never mind. ..what a mess!

Bought a little mower today to fix up, Briggs and Stratton engine just needs a service and some metal work on the deck.

Back to the bathroom work tomorrow.
