What did you do today?

Didn't do a whole lot today, helped Krystal clean the house this morning, then while her and the boys took a nap I fired up the old M and mowed the west pasture, might do the east one tomorrow if it's not too hot

 

And found a bird nest on Rodger's M while checking mine over, the bird was nowhere to be found but there's a couple eggs in it so I left it be, figured this tractor sits there with two flat tires and carb issues so they're not hurting anything

I got roped in to replacing my brothers bathroom for him somehow. Its his first house so he's never had to do anything like it before, complete mystery to him.

Spent the morning tearing out the old suite and fittings. 

It was going to be just fit me a bath and shower but I convinced him to let me replace the toilet and basin. 

Good job I did,  the toilet waste was plumbed in by an idiot. They used a piece of flexible extractor pipe to get the waste round a 90 degree bend,  had been leaking from the day they did it as he had forced the end of it into an old lead waste pipe, the wrong size. 

Wrong on so many levels.

Anyway, I moved some radiator feeds, sorted where the new wastes will go and started to plan our next steps over the coming days.

Did I mention the kitchen needs doing too?

It's terrifying what people do for DIY, they should just stick to watching TV and get a professional in!

So far I’ve hauled 370 miles or so, now it’s break time.  I have full trust in my wife and her hauling experience!  Cousin Trea is the trusty copilot, having driven this trip herself many, many times over the last 40+ years.

It’s decent Stefan and the thought has crossed my mind, but this is a shorter cab and bed, not to mention auto vs manual transmission.  I hate the thought of giving up all the real estate that Norman takes up and my deck over the bed wouldn’t fit any longer either.

So I made my own today. 

I figure the bigger size will make it harder to lose.

Hard part was drilling the square hole in the end!

That's a neat idea and I appreciate it for what it is but in my realm the bigger size just means I would need a larger space to lose it in. And believe you me mister man I can do it!

Today, I’m a mobile wrench.  Tune up on a friend’s motorhome.  Fun stuff, until you lose your spark plug socket 3 plugs in!

there’s a 5/8” spark plug socket in those pictures somewhere... but I can’t find it!  Even the Mrs. in her 70’s was crawling around underneath with a flash light!  At 36,000 miles on the ticker... this is immaculate... except the 3 burnt plug wires I found!

Loosely fitted the new engine into place. Ordered a throttle linkage part and going to get a new cable. Cant work as I have people painting the house. Close to having this cruising down the street. It has been many years since it has been moving under its own power. Cross your fingers that the tranny holds out !

that reminds me to my Buddy‘s Chevy G20 Gladiator 6,5l Diesel, 

when Fuelpump piston was defect.

 

We must change 2x the Fuelpump, because he lost a screw and we thaught it was falling into suction spinner.

After second try we found it, aside on Top on the Block.

Yes, there was a Plenty of room, but mostly on places where you ain’t need - LOL
