fairly recently cut a large downed locust branch into small sections and then burned them a couple of years later - great burning wood 

I've noticed the ants (and other insects ?) devouring some trees in our area - they are slowly taking out a stump that was cut years ago

If you have wild grape vines that you don't want, cut them down.  They attract the spotted lantern flies and I believe they feed on the sap.  I cut a 3" diameter vine while doing the firewood.

I removed the grape vines and other vines and overgrown heavy brush and small trees (including poison ivy of course) and planted hemlocks 

not long after this - a housing development was built next to this area ... one of four housing developments built near us since we purchased our house in the late 90's 

 

this area was one of the last to be developed (in this general area) ... a couple of small farms were sold - and then the building started

My lantern nymphs have sprouted wings and are moving from the blackberries to the maple trees.

One of the forest service roads in NM we used as access for a tower site, was made by bringing in some sort of huge rock crushing flail to bust boulders. Decent road for about half way, then the flail broke, the rest of the way to the tower sites was crawling over boulders for 5 miles.

Spent the day at one of our favorite places, Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. Beautiful day to enjoy some outstanding beautiful plantings. The water lilies are out of this world.

Managed to get the big ol Bayliner started.

Had to change the battery and double check all the ignition circuits.

Changed Dugs pump belt to a more rubbery version.

Completed order for Sweden, and started another.

Spent the day tidying tools away and putting my shops in order.

Moved the cylinder grinder to its permanent place in shop 2.

Parked up both tractors under the house to make room in shop 1.

By the way, if anyone knows where my chainsaw specs are drop me a line. Cant find them anywhere!
