bo dawg 516 #1 Posted April 9, 2020 Would there be any reason why the oil filter #122-0645 that's intended to work on the older Onan B43M and the P216 couldn't be used on the 520 P220? It fits other than being a little shorter.
lynnmor 7,651 #2 Posted April 9, 2020 Should be OK, be sure it holds the rubber gasket that surrounds it and seals the gap between the filter and tin housing.

onanparts.com 185 #4 Posted April 14, 2020 122-0645, 122-0406, 122-0469 and 122-0800 all can be used. You really don't want to use the longer ones unless they are protected from damage. If they stick out, they will get crunched...If no risk of damage, longer filters are preferred since they hold a bit more oil. The short 0406 is the same as 0645 but with a hex nut welded on for easier removal in cramped locations. Same story with the longer 0800, no hex and the 0469 with hex. 122-0406 shown. cleat 7,132 #5 Posted April 14, 2020 The 520 oil filter is well protected so damage should not be an issue. The issue will be in having enough room to get it out between the engine and tractor body panels. I use the 122-0800 longer filter and have no real issue with it.
