Added Fluid to Ag Tires Today

Recommended Posts

Went by the local Rural King and they had the -20 Windshield Washer fluid for $1.49 per gallon so I brought home eight gallons. Already had two gallons from when I added fluid to my turf tires this winter. Added 5 gallons per rear tire by using the self filling tire suction method. Posting this as a reminder to anyone that needs ballast now is the time to look for the reduced price -20 Windshield Washer fluid. Cost per tire is less than $8.50 if using around 40 pounds per tire.

I personally would only do it if I had tubes in my tires.  No tube you’re inviting rust to form.  Even though we don’t use chloride solution anymore, water based products can be pretty corrosive.

Yeah right Dell! Rust is your favorite color! Probably your favorite flavor too.

Agreed. Seems like your inviting

rust to destroy your rims and make it harder

to remove the tire from the rim .

Rust with a little boiled linseed oil on it buddy!  As for taste, yup I’ve eaten enough to form a rust bucket in my gullet!:ROTF:

Important to note; antifreeze contains rust inhibitors.  Washer fluid does not.

I researched this and decided on the -20 Windshield washer fluid. I read pros & cons and I hope that it does not eat up the wheels. If it does I will let you all know. I was tired of mashing my fingers on the wheel weights and might still use them at times. I use my tractor for plowing, mowing and some hauling. Man, how I love my Wheel Horse and our discussions about them!
