My Steering Wheel puller!

Recommended Posts

bottjernat1

So i have had a ton of folks ask me about the steering wheel puller i have that was my late dads. I have used it but only once dad used it many times. It is a pretty slick deal. I dont know who he got it from unfortunately. It was from a friend of his who made it. I have a video of it on my Youtube channel. I will see about getting a drawing and measurements of it soon and i will pass it along.

Nice work. I'm wondering if your Dads' buddy used a Wire EDM to make the split

only thing I might do to improve the design would be a steel "split" bushing to sit inside the stepped bore to press directly on the steel part of the steering wheel. IIRC the outer cover hangs below just a bit

I agree i would like it to be made of steel all together. It could take more of a beating this way!

Another idea would be a fine thread push bolt. More pulling power

Looks to me like the interlocking blocks were made first, then they were bolted together and the center hole was machined.

OK, yeah that makes sense.

Wire EDM is my specialty, that's why I thought of it first :)
