bottjernat1 2,194 #26 Posted March 16, 2020 So yah this happened. I have never broke a pulley ever. I didn't follow my own rules for removing a pulley. I'm fixing it. I could by new but I don't want to. So mad!! This is the correct pulley for the transmission on my 856.

I planned on having a friend who needs john deere parts to weld it for me he can do cast iron. But i broke the broken piece on saturday caring it around with me. So now i am using a cold weld goop. It will be hidden and out of site so it will be ok for now. biggest thing i have learned to be more patient. I will post it when its all cured up. I will go ahead and sand it and paint it to. Hopefully it will look as good as new LOL.

bottjernat1 2,194 #31 Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) So I also wanted to add I noticed something else on this horse. the rear wheels are not right at all. The rims have 6 holes? It is hard to tell in this photo but i promise you there is 6 holes one of course doesn't have a bolt in it. These rims definitely came off something else! Plus you may be adding to the vibration of the engine/drive line as now you are adding weight to one side of that pulley and spinning it around at 3600 rpm. I would just get a new one for $20.
bottjernat1 2,194 #33 Posted March 18, 2020 (edited) Well i cold welded it! the broke off piece broke and so i thought wth i will give this a shot. It may not work but im going to try! I will update on weather my fix worked! I didnt think the set screw would be a different size so now i have to get me a set screw. Worse case i will have to break down and get a new one. I wanted to weld it but the broke piece broke in to smaller pieces and i figured it would be harder to weld. I know its a hot mess but maybe it will work. WildmanC120 613 #37 Posted March 18, 2020 Do you really feel comfortable driving that thing around like that? It may not come apart now. It may not come apart tomorrow. But it may come apart some day and throw that metal at your face spinning at 3600rpm. I wish you luck
gt14rider 948 #38 Posted March 18, 2020 I would've used Gorilla duct tape. Use a high speed camera, we want good pics.
