GT-14 A diamond in the rough

Looks like today is the day for the GT to get its forever front shoes made. A pair of trailer rims coupled with a set of other brand tractor rear rims.

Ya gonna cut the center completely out of the one on the right and leave a flange to weld to with the one on the left?

Can't wait to see how you do it!

I'm using the center and inner half of the trailer rim to give me the offset/clearance I need on the pulleys at a full right hand turn. The other rim is undetermined at this point. Gonna jump in with both feet and wing it

Did you roll that center section, or do you have some big tubing laying around?

Remind her that "Social Distancing" is desirable for the health of your in-laws and you should stay in the shop.    Just for the sake of their health.       :text-lol:

So I heard a rumor that there is a Wheel Horse FEL sitting on a pallet  fairly close to me. Hasn't been on a tractor in years. If all complete what is a fair price?

Going rate for a complete FEL with pump, valve and hoses averages around $1500

Are there a bunch of different models? What should I keep my eye open for?

Seems like ARK and Quick-Way are the two major GT sized brands, I believe.

Is there a tell tale sign that it would be for a wheel horse?

If you can see if the subframe fits a quick attach and the real axle, that should be “for a wheel Horse”.  I think @prondzy had a subframe for sale for $300-ish?  If that’s the case, I’d deduct that from a Wheel Horse owner’s value.

No Shynon had one, it sold. Thete are different size ark loaders i believe that the gt14 uses an ark 512? I have the 508 on my c160, and of course there is the 550 for the d series.

Rear half of the Sub-frame for the GT-14 attaches to the rear axle and bolts to the frame near the center. The other half is attached to the frame at the front and attaches to the uprights making it a rigid unit. The whole idea is to transfer the stress and added weight to the wheels, not the frame of the tractor.
