So, have any treasured hydrangeas been harmed in the making of this trench yet? :ychain:

Funny you should ask. I was very careful. Did not harm a single bloom. Then my wife decided to let her brother take a "cutting". Now one third of the plant is cut out and it looks atrocious.   If I had done that, I would be sleeping in the shed.

Conduit is buried, trench filled, lawn seeded, ready to pull cable tomorrow when I have some help.

I got a lot of 416-H seat time today.

Halfway through installing overhead LED lighting. That's six 48" lights, six more to go.

Started work on the loft yesterday. Had the whole building empty and got the front support beam in place today. Then the sky opened up. Had to reload all the horses (and one deere) before an hour of torrential rain hit. Thanks to my 12 year old grandson who rounded up all the horses and brought them to the stable.

Old saying around here. Figure out what size barn you need. Double that. Then triple THAT. Then build it and hope for the best....

Granddads reply when my Dad asked him how many stones we needed to build the new stone house we were planning.

Haul  until you think you have enough,  then haul that many more.      Now you have half of what you will need.

Loft is complete. Looks like I'm going to have room for the grandsons 701 when we get it back together.

I like that, Bob. Nice job!

My next door neighbor had his driveway paved the other day. He asked me if I would like all of the #57 stone that they would have to remove. Of course I said yes. So the crew scraped up all 125 x 12 linear feet of stone and delivered it to my new pole building.

That's a lot of stone. I estimated it to be at least 12 tons. So I gassed up the 416-H and spent the rest of the day spreading it around.
