@Allen2265 requested the measurements for a seat back brace bracket so I figured I would share with the group.

I'm only guessing Kev but I'd say that's plate.

 

I really can't see a good reason for that to be spring steel.

 

 

I forgot to measure the thickness. Whatever it was, I would go one step thicker.

On the highly accurate carbon fiber composite digital caliper the thick-ocity measures .21

 

I don't know what gauge that is but obviously halfway between 3/16 and 1/4. Cases like this I would always go on the heavier side.

I’m not sure of the material, but I have one from another make that I wanted to bend slightly to make it more comfortable and I quickly found that I had to score it with a grinder before it would start to bend and then weld it back up.  It was very tough material.  I remember thinking it had to be some sort of spring steel.
