Welcome:text-welcomewave:. Might try a small electric winch from like harbor freight. They also sell a bracket kit for there winches https://www.harborfreight.com/2500-lb-atvutility-electric-winch-with-wireless-remote-control-61840.html might be a bit extreme but would work. Or a simple thing try greasing on the pivot points real good use a real good grease and some pb blaster!

Add some springs from the front frame/attach-a-matic to the snow plow frame much like a helper spring for tiller or snow throwers.

I've thought about doing that for both Trina and I.

Any thoughts on what type of spring? Size? Whatever?

Wheel Horse had a spring assist kit.  Might check the Manual Section.  I know we've some threads on this subject.  :occasion-xmas:

The Misc. section has quite a few manuals about springs and spring assist...check Manuals/Misc section.

Pullstart

Is this overkill?

They’re about 15” long.  I have two used ones from my plow truck!
