Wheel Horse Zero Turn

When I think of Wheel Horse.... I think of Wheel Horse Tractors. I seen this Wheel Horse Zero Turn on CL the other day, looks pre Toro Era.

They do pop up now and again.  There’s a local small engine / power equipment shop that had one a while back, but they will only part out old machines.  Nothing is sold whole.  More profit that way I imagine.

A pair of them popped up in CT a little while back.  I should have grabbed them.  They are probably a dream to mow with.

In the 1989 WH brochure I picked up at the dealer when buying my 312-8 shows a model 724-Z with a 24 HP twin cylinder Onan commercial- duty engine with dual Eaton 7 hydro drives with a weight of 990 lbs. Optional attachments were a 60'' and 50'' commercial SD mower, 6 cu.ft canister vac,48'' snow blade, drawbar and 22x12 knobby rear tires. This mower was capable of mowing up to 3 1/2 acres an hour at a speed of 6.5 mph, also with a ground speed forward and reverse from 0-8 mph.

So... @gwest_ca did Dixie Chopper build for Wheel Horse, or did they buy out Wheel Horse in the ZTR market?

Do you mean started it for WH?  Or started the ZTR in general?  I know my uncle had a Dixon ZTR back in the 70s.
