That sounds about average for a tractor wrangling trip for me in Texas.  Glad you had a safe trip.

Sent you a PM for some parts.

That bracket is cool but I'm more impressed you would drive that far for a couple of transmissions.

What happened to the 400 suburban tractor they were on?

Tractors gone years ago John!

I have boxes of RJ/suburban parts and redoing a couple more transmission s.  The two transmissions were redone in 1980s by the father.  Stayed in garage for years unused.   Got some very nice other wheel horse parts in the box too!

Lane, I have a three piece transmission missing most the internals, if not all of them.  Might you have a spare complete set of insides?  If not, I have some extra 2 piece transmissions and might bother you for more details of that adapter plate!

Pullstart:

I may have all the inside gears but  I would have to see which  gears go together.   You can mix the RJ and Suburbans but you have to match

the mushroom brake gear and the differential spider gears if I remember correctly.

I know I have two of the older  (first style mushroom brake gears)  but  they are not optimal for rebuilding -which is why they were redesigned.

I am going to Florida in Febryary to Rodney Burger's  (Lawnman_56 on Red Square) and I plan on redoing two transmissions.   I may end up with one RJ and one Suburban but not sure yet.

My brther has an RJ  frame he bought with a transmission that I plan on changing with the one I rebuild.

It will be several months before I know what else I have  that is complete.

My boxes  (five of them)  are all stacked up now and I sort out the gears , plates and center pieces for storage.

Are you looking for an RJ or Suburban three piece set up?

Lane

I have two 58 RJ’s for my girls.  The one from Richard is all good for a refresh but the other is empty.

Like how to get a date when your sister is the only girl in 100 miles?

I'd love to find a RJ, Suburban, or Lawn Ranger for my boy. I think he'd flip his lid, and then maybe I'd be able to get him to spend some time working with me.

He always tells me he wants to, but unless it is his project he won't actually do it, and I don't have anything to make into a project for him right now.

Because I am.

FWIW my dad was born in West Virgina, grew up in Perry County PA, which is the WV of PA, and didn't marry his sister.

Found out a few years ago that my parents are distant relatives though.
