Tach-a-matic 357 #1 Posted December 24, 2019 Getting on and off of them! I normally approach from the d-side and put my left foot on the footwell, stand up on it, and then pivot the right leg around. Well yesterday my (wet) left foot slipped during the move and now there is a huge welt on the inner part of the shin bone. The lift lever gets in the way too and does not help things. I had to go to the thought process and ingenuity of figuring out how to hold the phone because I don't have a tripod on a stand or any of that fancy-schmancy stuff like some of you high technology fellows do. JCM 10,251 #5 Posted December 24, 2019 Just my for an otherwise great video I remember back in the early 90's while using the 312-8 I stepped on the left footpad which did have some ice on it and slipped and ended up coming down on the lift lever which was holding the 48'' dozer blade in the up position, didn't think I would need a certain piece of protective equipment that was in my hockey bag at the time, always good to have the lift lever on the 8 speeds in the down position just to be safe. 3 1 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Lagersolut 743 #7 Posted December 24, 2019 The previous owner of the 416 8 I picked up was using the steering wheel and PTO lever to get on and off the tractor . Had to be a pretty big person - steering wheel is bent - dash was cracked - steering shaft bushing was broke as was the PTO lever bushings . Any I confess to not being one of those 110 pound jockeys by a long shot! I think that may have something more to do with the "mounting the horse issue" ! This does remind me, I need to add a jounce pad of some type to Frank. His seat spring is mounted “backwards” like a Cub Cadet and I have pinched my leg plenty on the transmission tunnel. tom2p 2,394 #23 Posted December 27, 2019 bad dismount story years ago ... at the time both kids were young - maybe 3 and 7 years old (?) - and were instructed to stay out of the garage and stay off the tractors youngest went into the open garage and climbed up onto one of the tractors and apparently was pretending to drive - but then attempted to get off the tractor quickly when I approached his leg or foot apparently got caught on something - steering wheel or PTO lever or gear shift - and then he spun and fell backwards back first on top of the mower deck height adjustment lever kid screamed so loud I thought the level impaled him fortunately nothing serious Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
