New to forum. Looking at older WH, saw this on CL. Owner has no idea, can get more pics if needed

Pretty sure I can see a starter generator in that picture which dates it to 1967 or earlier, usually. Also a six-speed transmission.

That's about the time they started using those.

Other pictures would help....

Thanks for replies. 1 more pic. Would like to revive older WH to mow <1 acre yard. Seems to me WH mowing decks hold up well and auto tractor may be way to go.

Automatic versus manual is certainly a preference issue. I tend to prefer the manual transmissions but I also don't have a lot of areas where I need to switch in and out of gears on a constant basis except for plowing. I don't mow so I can't really speak for that.

If you have a yard that you don't need to change directions constantly a manual will serve you just fine.

Welcome to the forum.

The ID plate may be in this location

Seems an almost identical machine showed up in a question of ID.
My vote was a 10/1267 or a Raider between 68-70..

That hood is 100% post 1970.

A few things off though. After 68 they added full length footplates, a 3 spoke steering wheel, but did away with the generator starter. Some early Raider 12's did have full boards and a genny.. however the hood is wrong.

That 2 spoke wheel looks to be the smaller one, and that would tell me 1965-6. 67 wheels are lager and a little different shape.

That dash also has no headlight switch location, further pointing to a 1966/7.

..A proper mutt if anything. Must have been Johnny Cash's mower.

Curious what the ID tag would say.

It's newer then 1967...running boards.  1968/69/70/71 and 1972's were all Raiders with the 6 speed 10 pinion LS.  Also the stripes on the hood make it like 70/71.   :occasion-xmas:

The steering wheel, generator, and dash point to something earlier however.

Have seen a share of 66-7's 'dressed up' as newer models. An engine swap is one thing, but the entire dash?

Do my eyes deceive me or does it also have an odd looking clutch pedal?

@Rhett26    What ever you decide do not be afraid of a Manual trans WH tractor, they are almost, or should I say bulletproof, I have 5 manuals and 1 hydro, both have their place.    And      :text-welcomeconfetti:  TO      :rs:
