:WRS:

There is a lot of linkage for the brakes/clutch that would need to be changed along with the transmission. If you have the complete tractor the three speed came from you could get the job done, but if you need to buy all the parts and pieces it could be a bit of a challenge.

I'm curious to know the reason for the desired swap.

Is your hydro bad?

Do you prefer a gear drive?

Just being nosey quite frankly...

Best bet if you do the change is to find a parts tractor that has everything you need.

Or... Just buy another tractor... Always good to have spares.

Hey @noe, I’d also suggest looking for a ‘65–‘67 short frame roller that you could toss your engine and sheet metal on.  As always, a spare tractor a much better idea :handgestures-thumbupright:

What's wrong with the Hydro?  Does it lose power as it gets warmed up?

If so, take the pump off and restore the brass surfaces within.  This is not difficult to do...

Sounds like just a seal job. Would be a hell of a lot easier than swapping the whole tranny.

Does the transmission work okay other than leaking some?

Would you prefer to have a manual instead of a hydro?

One thing to keep in mind is that before you put any transmission into any tractor you are very likely to need to replace more than one seal.

There are a couple o-rings that are in there, a fairly easy job to fix.

The Wheelamatic that came in an 875 doesn't use the same sealing setup as the later hydro gears and piston to pistons.  I don't have one and I am n ot sure if it is an O ring or an encased seal....
