701 Steering Block

Think that's what it's called anyway... cracked at both mounting points. PO tried to weld one side... I rewelded botth sides, but they both cracked pretty quickly.

Is this piece cast iron or something? 

Anyway, what years would fit this, if there are any others? Looks like I need to find one,.

If you have a true 701 and the correct steering block/fan gear, it is i one year only, one model only steering block/gear, hard to find. That being said you could install a 702 block and gear and it would work

I’ve heard it’s different.  Have you any photographs to show the difference?

Here are some pics of my 701 and a 702 Steering Block and Fan Gear . 

 

They are different and the 701  is unique to the 1961 701 tractor.

Yeah, 702 looks a little beefier in the key area. Is it steel? Or is it cast iron?
