I just kind of go with the flow on these tractors. Sometimes it is easier to buy another one for parts  to get yours running

  I am assuming you need that electric clutch for a mower deck. Well just look how easy it worked out for you!. There are great people here, and sometimes one man's trash is another man's treasure..

 

You  stated that you use your tractors. What are you gonna use it for?  Also we like Pictures. Little pictures of wheels and such do not count. Let's see the whole tractor

There are no loss causes at that point they become parts tractors. As for tires I want good dependable tires on my working tractors and I don't have any other kind. I hate brake downs when I'm trying to get a job done.

That 312-8 is mine, also, given to me by my Dad, a lil over 3 yrs ago, now😊 It was/is my 1st WH...that he bought/suprised me with, when i expressed an intrest in them. It currently resides about 120 miles north of here, with 3 others, by my folks. The Bronco is just the 1st i found/bought on my own.

The plan is, if i can do it, to add on/build more storage space here, so i can bring it down. Maybe doesnt make sense, but id like to own a few more...GT 14; 1045; a Blackhood. Maybe more, i dunno. Cuz i do hope someday to own the space to really use them...

I know...cart b4 the horse, lol.

But i like the hobby, so...here i am.

I don't think that's putting the cart before the horse at all.

I feel more like that would be preparation for being able to put them to use properly.

 

I don't know that I would refer to it as a hobby if you're going to be using them as actual pieces of equipment around your property.

 

Around my place it's a conscious personal decision to use older equipment.

 

Definitely can understand your desire to have certain models and do certain things with them. My honey really likes the stuff from the mid-60s and I prefer the tractors from the mid-70s.

Careful Jason, Horse's seem to multiply faster than you think. I bought my first  in 2014. Now 5yrs later I'm up to 12 & you have to back into my garage if you want to walk out.

That’s my plan also have several, a tractor and dedicated implement. I’ve only had my dads for a year and bought 2 more‘s, plus a tiller, dirt turning plow. I have a snowblower, a disc, a cultivator. I found and found out just how useful the machines are and how helpful the people are here and have never looked backed to regret any of it. I’m now rebuilding a workhorse (grey) horse and the many spent ????? Don’t know but it’s been fun and looking at a machine, implement every day. Soon will have to look at a bigger storage building.

If needing tubes and a clutch were enough to render a tractor junk, 99% of us wouldn't be on this site. Those are easy things to deal with. 

 

I can understand being daunted by tasks that you have no experience with, but there isn't really any reason to be. Take it apart and learn. There isn't much to mess up. I have never taken anything to a shop (aside from a machine shop, obviously) to be worked on and I don't plan to. You get a sense of satisfaction when you do something yourself. Your wallet benefits as well.

 

You can buy a tool that you'll use for years for less than what you'll pay someone to do the job once. If your tires don't leak, leave them be. Sidewall cracking has nothing to do with the carcass of the tire. If they do, buy that bead breaker from HF that was suggested a few posts back and put tubes in. HF also has tire spoons for about $5 a piece. You'll want two. YouTube is your friend for learning how to do just about anything. 

 

As for your clutch, do a continuity test as was stated before. Also inspect the state of the wires underneath the sheathing. It almost looks like I see a crimp connector in the middle of one of the wires. If that's what it is, they are prone to corrosion when they are exposed to the elements. Could be where your issue lies.

Well @12Horse Paladinmy clutches have a  different back plate than yours.  My clutch coil is mounted on the triangular back plate. The actual coil that is attached to the triangular plate with heavy swagged pins, looks the same.

I don't see any easy way to combine your and my parts.

Any ideas on how to make it easily fit his tractor?   

Does anyone know what these type of clutches fit?

Hey, no problem; i can understand that.

Maybe somebody else would know how to make one of them work; but that is beyond me, without instruction, if it is not direct bolt on kind of thing.
