SPINJIM 1,986 #7 Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) It was announced on National Public Radio in the morning, and on local news at noon, but that's it. I remember I was working at M.A.Bruder Paint Co. in the paint testing lab in west Philly. I was standing at the lab bench when Earl, one of the paint chemists, got a phone call from his wife. Earl stood up at his desk and announced it to everyone. I turned to my right to listen for any details. Everyone in the lab just stopped work, and the place was silent for at least ten minutes. I don't recall what I did yesterday, but I remember all of those details from 56 years ago. Jim Edited November 23, 2019 by SPINJIM

Something like, you just need to watch it! It must of been the mid 60's when we got color TV, remember watching Batman in color.

8ntruck 7,842 #13 Posted November 23, 2019 I was home from grade school sick - pneumonia, I think. Mom and I were playing records, so we didn't have the radio or TV on. My oldest sister came home very upset with the news. Yup, the TV was black and white and we could only get two channels, sometimes a third, depending on the weather. 953 nut 60,083 #15 Posted November 24, 2019 We were decorating the gymnasium for a Thanksgiving themed fund raising event to raise money for our high school senior trip. I remember it like it was yesterday. The announcement was made over the PA and we all kind of gathered for a group hug. Very sad day indeed! Today's "News People" are too busy chasing after concocted nothing stories to pay homage to great people who have defended the freedoms we all enjoy. Now if I could only remember what I did yesterday. 4

Lee1977 7,215 #17 Posted November 24, 2019 (edited) I was 21 years old going home from Center Piedmont Community College when I heard the new on the radio. I know Oswald was framed, don't if he shot out of the School Book Depository. I do know enough about guns that Kennedy was shot from the front. i knew that when I first saw it on TV.
