fast88pu 3,372 #1 Posted November 17, 2019 I put the boosted 522xi to work today around the yard doing firewood and tugging logs. I cut and split about a quard of wood this am by hand. It feels like it's about 10 degrees out with the wind. This log has to weigh about 2k+ pounds. Now the xi scales in at 10 pounds shy of 1500 lbs. It tugged it like a champ though. Was worried about it rolling don't into the driveway on the left and into my trailer then further down rolling to the right which is about a 4' drop into the neighbors shed and taking the tractor with it. 5

Pullstart 67,083 #8 Posted November 20, 2019 My Commando 6 we call “Jane” is the dedicated tug around here. I have a flat drawbar and a 1-7/8” ball that are easily interchanged and that seems to work great for the majority or what needs movin’ around these parts! Being so light in the front end is a bonus, it’s always good for a fun ride with a heavy load! 2

ZXT 2,401 #13 Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) I'll have to see if I have any pictures stored somewhere of what I've pulled. I've pulled my sisters dead Kia Sorento up my 340' 8% grade driveway with my C-160, one of my Porsche 928's around with my GT-14, one of my 70s Dodge trucks, and my Camaro with my C-120. Traction was definitely the biggest issue with any of them. Edited November 21, 2019 by ZXT

8ntruck 7,889 #15 Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) Mostly lightweight stuff with my 14 no name. Used to drag the paddle boat, canoe, pontoon trailer, dock pieces, and small house trailer around on the property. Pullstart - do you have a picture of the drawbar/ball hitch on Jane? I'm thinking about upgrading the hitch on my horse to some sort of easily interchanged drawbar/receiver hitch. Herder - the patina on the 9N you are tugging looks about the same as the 8N that I just bought back looked the first time I owned it. One has a hitch ball and the other just a hole, like for the lawn trailer or sweeper. The unused hitch piece fits great in the toolbox area under the seat. Pullstart 67,083 #22 Posted November 25, 2019 @8ntruck here are pictures of Jane’s hitch. They are all pieces from previous owners of the random bunch of Wheel Horses that find their way home. I did bend up the solid link that bolts to the transmission, because the lift cable broke one day. As I recall, I was jumping on the hitch trying to free the tractor from the wood splitter. They just don’t make things like they used to!

If you’re coming to Hermann I’d recommend September because October is really crowded and all the same, for the most part, activities and sites are available in other months.
