Wheelhorse 520-h smoking and spitting oil out of the muffler

Hi everyone hope everyone is having a better day then me ok so sorry if this has already been covered but my 520-h has. Been smoking a lot on start up and while running and spitting oil out of the muffler eventually will go away but soon enough returns again plus the brake light keeps popping on idk but please any help will be appreciated

There is a switch for the parking brake that may need adjustment, or there is a problem with the switch or related wiring, but that is the least of your problems.

 

The place to start with your engine is to test the compression, if it is below 75 psi the engine need internal work ranging from a valve adjustment to major overhaul.  It actually should be over 100 psi.

 

There is a breather atop the engine that should be serviced, they can rarely cause smoking symptoms.

 

Is the oil at the correct level and clean?  Does it smell of gasoline?  A bad fuel pump can allow gas to enter the crankcase.

 

Most Onans do give a puff of smoke at cold startup, but it should go away in seconds, blowing oil out the exhaust may not end well.
