The Tuul Crib 7,339 #1 Posted September 23, 2019 Found this fuel pump on this 12 horse that I tore apart yesterday and I have not seen a fuel pump with possibly a primer on it?Maybe they were common or maybe they weren't. Also the sediment cup I was wondering if anybody knows if you can still get the screen and the seals for this ?
Ed Kennell 42,024 #2 Posted September 23, 2019 I've seen only one of those pumps with the primer lever. I don't remember what it was on.
The Tuul Crib 7,339 #3 Posted September 23, 2019 I just found an NOS one of these fuel pumps on eBay. 115 Bucks !! Yikes!
formariz 12,045 #4 Posted September 23, 2019 I have a few pumps with that primer. They work but a little ineffective. Takes almost as long as it does cranking the engine . There are kits for the sediment bowl but a new one is only about 15 bucks. Not sure its worth it.
WHX?? 51,773 #5 Posted September 24, 2019 (edited) I've got at least two K's with the primer lever on it Cribs. Most don't. Buying 50 YO tractors is like a box of chocolates...yah never know what yer gonna get! Aways just passed it off on what pump what was on the assembly line in the day .....damn the spec No Kohler needs to ship motors. Thought I saw a lever in a pic so a cam driven pump so any cam driven pump will do. Hopefully we have you schooled enough to not believe every thing you see on TV...err....evilbay! Rebuild or the cheaper plastic pump. As for the bowl I do know the glass and gasket are available on fleabay but be carefull as the whole shebang can be had for less than 15 clams.Don't know about the screen but you can just ditch the screen and run a in line filter, which you should be doing anyway with a bowl, if you want to keep the old skool cool of a bowl. @squonk says ditch the bowl as they always leak and he is right but I highly doubt he has ever owned a original! Sorry Mike but been abit since I give you your daily ration of crap! What's up with the plugged flare 90 on it tho? 953 nut 60,069 #6 Posted September 24, 2019 Ten HP Kohler engines 1965 and earlier had the primer lever, best ides they ever had, don't know why they ditched it. The Then and Now fuel pump kits have what you will need to rebuild it.

IProbably won't be using the bowl. It's got a cool look to it though,

I have a 72 year old tractor that has had one on it's whole life & is still running great. Parts are available but if you wish to replace it here is a good source. http://www.psep.biz/store/kohler_fuel_filters.htm I've been running one of theirs on my McLean for the last few years & have had no issues with it. Send me your address Jim and when I have time to dig them out I'll send them to ya. You can send me something cool Packer or Mafia related in return. You can buy replacement screens and gaskets at your local Napa.
