Hey everyone,

Is there anyone in the Erie, Pa area that can get my 417a tractor running again?

I have most parts necessary to fix.

I bought this last year with hopes of using it as primary snowblower machine for this winter.

I just don't have the time to mess with it as my current schedule requires 70 hours a week. Plus, my wife and 3 kids. Lol!

Please let me know if you know of a good repair shop. Thanks guys..

Cory

I would visit a Napa store and ask there.

Not a box store.  Someone at church or places like that might know of retired guys who do this stuff. Also there's the possibility of a trade school with adult education classes in small engine repair.

That Kohler would make a fantastic teaching aid.

One more. FFA stands for a group of farm kids. A school in the country might be a place to call.

Check with equipment rental places near you, they have lots of connections.

What's it need? I'm not in Erie right now, but I do go there.

I also know a mechanic in the city, not sure he messes with lawn tractors though.

It needs a stator put on (I have the part) fluids changed, apart plug. So not too much...

I'd be willing to help, but I won't be up that way again until some time in December.

Another Update;

My company is giving me this coming weekend off!  I will have the time to fix my 417.  My son and I are planning on doing it.

Looking forward to it.

I need to replace the stator.  Anyone know what "special tools are required"
