Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Looking for a specific part for a wheelhorse my uncle owns and can't seem to find anything on it.

Front spindles for a bucket tractor 1978 C 141 as you can see from the pics tried welding them but they keep bending. Does anyone know of anywhere that makes this specific part?

any and all help appreciated.

Nate

I would suggest switching to a 520 front axle & spindles. This would bump you up to 1" spindles instead of 3/4" spindles.

Thanks achto but will the spindles be able to hold the added weight of the bucket with a load on the front as well?

Pullstart

You’ll have a whole lot better chance with the 1” rod than 3/4” rod...  if you happen to bend a 1” axle I’d ask what you’re loading and how much at a time?

A 520 front axle with 1 inch spindles is your best bet. A swept forward 520 axle along with the reduction steering even better.

Once those spindles get bent the metal fatigue makes them weaker, You can weld on gussets to both sides of the bend support. Another option is order 1 inch spindles and weld up your own spindles and use 1 inch trailer hubs but you will need new rims as well.

:WRS:

From the looks of it the axle has been welded too. See if anyone has a 520 complete axle assembly by placing a "Wanted Ad" in our classified section, it is free.  https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/classifieds/wanted/?do=form&d=2

@kdropper1322@aol.com Found this add here on RS. Should be all that you need to go to a 520 front axle set up.
