Heading outdoors.

The chicken coup, note the record keeping above the door.

Curious if the record keeping above the door was bad debt being displayed for neighbors who also purchased eggs at the farm.

The flowers are beyond the sticky resin stage which imparts taste and aroma to your favorite brew, new plants are started from rhizomes.

This property has been subdivided with the lots advertised as lake lots which are not selling all that well. I think three lots have sold with two houses built in the last three years.

PM me your mailing address, I'm heading over to see if the hop flowers are ready for picking, they'll need a few days drying time.

The old house is soon to be history they've brought on the earth movers to level out the land for more water front lots. Tis why i saved the old trunk, going back later to check out the basement for old crockery.

My Hops, time to make some beer.

Picked some hop flowers that was until I disturbed some bald face hornets. After that incident just grabbed handfuls of vine and ran like hell.

The vines with flowers drying for seed.

Any takers, these seeds are sure to be heirloom, early homesteader stock.

Hops seeds can be slow to germinate. Use a process called "cold scarification" to encourage hop seed germination. A good method is to put seeds in an equal amount of moist sand and refrigerate from one to three months at about 41 degrees F. After that, plant the seeds at 68 degrees F.

Out of curiosity chewed on a hop flower, WOW these things ar really bitter and leave an everlasting after taste in your mouth which after an hour or so becomes rather pleasant.

Probably have beer farts for the next week.

If your interested in trying these hops out, I'm game to send you a few ounces of dried flowers.
