Doogie55 1 #1 Posted August 9, 2019 I replaced the regulator but not sure of wiring. It has (3) ac b+ ac terminals. I have a red, grey and two white wires. One of the white wires must have piggy backed but not sure which other wire. It had short circuited came off turned brown and blowed the 30 amp fuse. The grey wire is for the tachometer and red goes to switch/starter. Would it piggy back the grey or other white?

lynnmor 6,698 #4 Posted August 9, 2019 The two white wires coming up from behind the flywheel go to the outside AC terminals. The red goes to the b+ and the gray can piggy back on either white wire.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,441 #7 Posted August 10, 2019 If the tach does not work try moving the gray wire to the other white wire. Not that the white wires are any different but they are connected differently inside the regulator which changes the electrical signal. Garry
