For those of you who keep up with geography, Zagreb is in the old country of Yugoslavia, home to that “whatever it is”! Well, with free enterprise and capitalism has come an influx of cars from around the world. Guess what was all but missing? Then one day I turned the corner and I said, “Dad quick, take a picture!” He said, “Of what?” That Yugo of course! Looks like he is lining up to race the vintage Citroen!!! All you had to do was drive it for 40,000 miles, this is about where the engine would give up it's life. Then throw the 4 cylinder aluminum bore, cast iron head engine away. Then replace the engine with a nice small block V8 & you had a rocket on wheels , until the body rusted off. '71 - '73 were the best looking Vega's IMO. He had a 76 Chevette that he used a a 4WD truck. He beat in it for 160,000 miles. Then he brought it to us and had us replace all of the suspension parts that were available.
