barns1 57 #1 Posted April 10, 2009 I thought maybe my 414 had the wrong muffler on it causing the hood decal to melt and peel. But all of the pictures and parts diagrams show the muffler that is on it now. I have new decals but hate to install them and have the same thing happen again. Any ideas? bitten 133 #2 Posted April 10, 2009 How old is the muffler? If it the origanal it might have very thin metal that is allowing heat to escape. This is what happend to my 85'. It looked to be a decent muffler but after plowing snow with it one night I could see that it had tinny holes allowing the exhaust and heat to escape before it should.
