DJones 9 #1 Posted June 23, 2019 Found this old tractor in falling down barn on my propane delivery route. Not sure of year. Had planned to restore but no time as i'm restoring a 56 Ford F100. Mine is a 1961 401 suburban. Yours has the same decal as mine. The 1960 suburban has a different decal. I’m not an expert but there are people on this site who are. You came to the right place. BHunter 1,700 #6 Posted June 23, 2019 I just went out to the shed to look at my 61. It has the same throttle , Choke knobs, and big hole above motor. I found my serial number tag on the hood support in front of the motor. Yours should be there too. If you can clean up the tag and post the numbers, @gwest_ca will know what model you have. ZXT 2,401 #10 Posted June 24, 2019 (edited) I'm going to beat the dead horse and say leave it be. It would most certainly haul around in the bed of the F100. Hauling old iron in the bed to car shows is something we've always done and you certainly get more looks. Have you tried to run it? Doesn't look like that new muffler has been hot yet. If it’s the metal tag and the hood stand then it’s left over 1960 plates that are cut down to use up vs the decals used on most 1961’s, so that makes it a early 1961....I have two like that so they are pretty cool! 953 nut 59,371 #12 Posted June 24, 2019 I too wouldn't do a restoration on a with patina like that. If anything, just rub it down with some 0000 steel wool and WD-40 to allow the red to come back.
