Spotted a retired Viking Hydrostatic sitting in a field that needs rescuing, same tractor as the MTD 990 16 horse Briggs, snowblower resting further away in taller weeds probably find a mower deck on the property. Make a nice package but not sure if I want another garden tractor project

 

Good thing the owner was not home to accept an impulse offer.

I would be looking into it closer. Always likes those old MTD machines...before they became a throw-away tractor.

Those old 990's have a pretty good reputation as being a beast! I would check into it if I were you.

Had a chance to meet the fellow who owns this tractor, when Mike purchased it at a farm auction the tractor was only two years old, came with a full house of implements.

 

Snowblower, tiller, harrow, mower deck, chains and wheel weights.

 

Asked Mike if he would consider selling replied in the negative said that one of his sons wants it when he pass's on.my reply was why not give it now and enjoy it with him while your still here. Said he would love to but son lives in Nova Scotia.
