Sarge 3,465 #6 Posted May 9, 2019 That is either spark knocking or the carb is getting plugged and starving it for fuel - mine did the same thing the last time I mowed but haven't had the time to get out to fix the thing yet. That 16 needs a lot of fuel and the timing set correctly to be happy - look into doing the K series timing procedure with a multi-meter. Generally - called "Static Timing" procedure. Hacksawhero123 351 #7 Posted May 10, 2019 Yeah. Don’t set the points with a feeler gauge. Static timing is the way to go. Mark.
seven 202 #8 Posted May 11, 2019 Can you explain to me what static timing is cause I've never heard of it.

Hacksawhero123 351 #11 Posted May 12, 2019 My k341 was set a bit too far advanced and was running hot. My exhaust elbow and stack tip was cherry red hot. After retiming, she ran cooler and all was well in the world again. Use an ohm meter. You want the points to break contact at the same point that the “S” timing mark on the flywheel lines up with the pointer. Best of luck. Mark
Hacksawhero123 351 #12 Posted May 12, 2019 A good sign that your timing might be a fuzz off. Mark.
