seven 202 #1 Posted April 26, 2019 It won't stay running on low idle it's it's like it doesn't spark all the time it'll spark and then I'll miss a spark and then I'll spark some more it's just missing it does not have a coil on it I'm wondering if its the points or if I'm not sure? I don't think it's fuel related. It might be a weak batterybut I charged it and it still still does the same thing basically it has intermittent spark Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Stepney 2,354 #2 Posted April 26, 2019 No coil? You probably have a magneto ignition then, is it a 1968 model? I converted mine to a 12v coil when my magneto failed. May not be original, but WH used that system for many many years, compared to a mag. Anyway. If the points are clean and set properly, I'd start with changing the condenser and doing an ohm. test on the coil. Could be breaking down internally. pfrederi 18,689 #4 Posted April 27, 2019 Just to be sure you have a Kohler motor. (In 1970 some Charger 12s had Tecumsehs). If you have the Kohler you will have to get a new ignition switch and an internally resisted coil. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
