Part sources for 314-8

Recommended Posts

Looks like I need a new belt for my 314-8. I have a dealer about 45 minutes away that was born and raised on wheel horse and knows his stuff. Do you guys have dealer alternatives for basic parts or is it worth the drive to utilize the dealer?

do you have a T/S  thats closer  ?  the belt  looks like it probably has some  I/D on it , not looking in terrible shape. if nothing else  you could bring it with you  and match one up.  you might also try a Napa AUTO PARTS store. pete

If you can find the length of the belt got your nearest autozone. Best price!

WH 7473  For the gear drives I prefer WH belts.  (I use Gates Power rated for everything else.  The WH just seem to be a bit smoother engaging.  Other have different experiences

82 "  5/8" if you go after market

that looks like the pto drive belt, from tractor to deck, The length would depend on the deck Rear discharge , side discharge, those are the 2 main ones. I think that they are around 100"

I'm having a hard time reading the belt. I will call the dealer to see if they know the size. Otherwise I could get a few around 100" and give it a try. I would prefer not to have it torn apart for long since the grass is getting greener😁

Part number on belt is 108834. There is a 1 in a circle after the number, not sure what that means but they come up online as 98". I will call around and see what I can find.

I use several different sources for all our maintenance parts.

Belts... I agree with Paul.

I Know lots of us use TSC but I've not had the same good luck there.

I use gates green belts.i have used the blue belts that Lincoln from A to Z sells and they've been fine as well.

The 1999 42" rear discharge deck is model 78350. May not be the exact deck you have but the belts posted will be the same. Click on the pictures

I ordered the Toro belt from my very local lawn and hardware store. Cost me $24 but I won't have to travel far to get it. I should have it on in a week or two. Thanks for all of your help.

Not to Nitpick, but the belt (in your picture is on the outside grove of the PTO pulley. It belongs on the inside grove. Long story short, the new belt may not work if you try to install it on the Outside of the pulley.
