My first Wheel Horse

Well, after discovering that only one wheel was getting power, I decided to tear into the transmission. Overall the gears look decent, but then I got to the differential. Looks like the spider gears may have let loose at some point, so they decided to weld two of them to the carrier. I guess the left one came loose again.:angry-banghead:

From the first pic: like how it is set up - plow, orchard fenders, and all. Precious early model  - makes it possible for snow plowing and nut roasting at same time.

:WRS: Cuda and thanks for the pics.

I'm afraid your transmission will have to come apart to fix that popping out of gear problem. You have a bad  3523 gear in there. It comes from trying to shift on the fly which is a no no.

Fortunately ther are the parts and know how here to fix it. Here is the gear you will need.

Yours will look like the one on the left, should look like the one on the right

@stevasaurus Has how to videos on these transmission and are easy to open up. Not to mention many other experts here on them.

That is exactly what the gear looks like. I'm going to go ahead and order one. Can someone tell me if I have the early or late transmission so I can order the right seal kit to go with it?

Also, any ideas on finding another differential? I think I'm going to take it to work and cut the axle gears out and clean the welds up. Then I can try to source some new axle/spider gears or attempt to make some new ones.
