CT Meet and Greet!

I pulled the rim out and used a wire brush to get the paint and junk off. I got a good portion of everything off. The side of the rim that was away from the plate still had rust so after cleaing eveything off I could, I turned it around and put it back in for another good soak. If anyone has never tried this it is unbelievable. You could never imagine that rusty parts could look so new again.

After that was done, I pulled the HY-3 out of that old 953 and disassembled it and cleaned all the parts in the solvent tank. The more I look at that rusty old thing, the more I am thinking about making a pulling tractor out of it.

Nice tags, no doubt. You have to remember tho that Yankees especially CT Yankees are quite/very frugal. I was thinking Duct Tape and a felt tip marker  :omg:

Chris thanks for the pics & hope you got everything resolved with your faulty brakes.

Pics-no problem. Glad to assist.

Brakes-Put on new rotors, repacked wheel bearings, new seals, and ceramic style brake pads. She stops good now. Just in time to get the 401 tomorrow night. :omg:

Jeff- The 401 tranny is locked up. I was going to dump it into the E-tank to free it up. It's the same tranny as yours. If the differential gear, and mating bull gear look good, would you be interested in swapping? I'm going to see how third gear looks, and the input gear. I'll put it back together and get it working.

Here are a few pics of the beat up 401 I got the other night.

That's as far as I could get anything off.The seat, brake band, and rear tires.

So I did what I thought I should do....

Dump the whole darn thing in the Electrolosis tank. Yes, the tranny is still attached. We'll see if it frees it up. I think I'll leave it in for close to a whole week, at 3amps. I'll have to take the cathode out a few times and clean it.

Jeff--I installed the new brake booster today. :omg: Pedal is pretty high up now!! I left the reinforsed hose on for sweet memories.

Chris,

What I really need is the hood stand. The po hacked the top of mine when they put in the bigger engine. Want to just sell me the whole thing and I will use it for parts or just part it out?

Jeff

ps: Nice touch leaving on the replacement vacuum line. Next time we all get together we can pop the hood and say remember when :omg:
