30 years ago I when i was a cub scout and i took home the grand champ trophy in the pinewood derby, 30 years later my 7 year old took home a 2nd. thought it made a cool photo.

Since I homeschool my girls, they quite often take a trip to the hardware store with me.  The hardware store sets up a track every year for a short time and allows anyone test and tune time.  Since my girls saw the track, they wanted cars.  Since we completed the cars, they took the track down.  Since we had cars but nowhere to run them, I kept my eyes open for a track to run at.  Now thanks to CL’s free section, we have our own BSA track in the basement.  Since we have the track, we have another round of cars that need completion!

When my son was in scouts, the fathers also built a car and ran them. It was a lot of fun except for one father that must have always had his car "balanced & blue-printed"....He always won!
