The Tuul Crib 7,332 #1 Posted March 15, 2019 Just got my K321 and many thanx to @Firebug for getting me this great lookin Behemoth! This will be a strong tractor! Anyway I got it bolted to the frame today and I run into a bit of an issue. The battery box won’t bolt to the frame because of the drain on the oil pan. My question is can the oil pan be reversed so that the oil drain is on the other end or the front of the motor. Is the oil pan reversible? There is not a hole on the other end of the pan or I could just move the drain .
953 nut 51,940 #2 Posted March 15, 2019 Can't turn it around because of the bolting. Could put a flat plug in it and drill and tap the side for a 3/8" or even 1/4" pipe thread. If you don't have a pipe tap you could drill it out and find a friendly plumber to do it for a six pack. 1
The Tuul Crib 7,332 #3 Posted March 15, 2019 Yea that really stinks! I guess I could get a smaller battery pan or fabricate one . I don’t have many plumber friends!
520HC 207 #4 Posted March 16, 2019 Mine all have the oil drain in front if there is no room in the rear. Just drill and tap it for a front drain.
The Tuul Crib 7,332 #5 Posted March 16, 2019 The oil drain is on the back of the oil pan on my K181 like my K321. But the k181 has a removable plug on the front. The 321 does not.
wallfish 15,959 #6 Posted March 16, 2019 What model tractor is this? That appears like a pretty big space for a battery between the steering fan and the oil drain but could just be the pic
The Tuul Crib 7,332 #7 Posted March 16, 2019 This is a 1067. Not sure why the battery box is so big . I could resize it . I’m sure I will take the easiest solution at this point. I would really want the drain were it is . So if I can’t reverse the pan on the motor I will probably resize the battery pan.

Herder 2,354 #9 Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Battery sizes have decreased over the years. They were wider and considerable taller. Think of a box of cereal, when we were kids a box of cereal lasted all week and today a box only contains 2 1/2 servings. Stay hungry my friend! This one is currently set up to drain from the front however, the drain can also be moved to the rear. Of course they also made them to drain from the pto side. peter lena 8,099 #11 Posted March 16, 2019 after you decide , where your drain is going to be you could also finish it off with a fumoto valve https://www.amazon.com/s?k=fumoto+valve&dc&hvadid=318578069962&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9003291&hvnetw=s&hvpos=1t2&hvqmt=b&hvrand=9038658867314882799&hvtargid=aud-676677759484%3Akwd-5591821349&tag=googhydr-20&ref=a9_sc_1 ensuring no leaks, and giving you a clean easy hose mount point. The Tuul Crib 7,332 #12 Posted March 16, 2019 This morning I turned the motor over and found out there are four holes with threads on the bottom so I rotated the motor on the frame and bolted it back down . Everything lined up ! 2
