pulley will not work on a gt14

That info is right out my my GT 14, Model 1-7441 Parts Manual.

It agrees with the casting number on your busted pulley.

I had sent gt14rider the wrong pic. Should be squared away now as I do have the correct pulley for him.

Hay all  been trying to  work on the  pump but wife has other plans up to my eye ball in a bathroom  remodel.   Can someone chime in on what grit sandpaper to stop at. I'm  at 800 and the pistons and pump don't  look  to bad

From these 2 pics your Piston Slippers and Charge Pump Housing face look good.  You MUST also resurface the Base of the Cylinder Block and the Thrust Washer.  Be sure to locate the charge pump housing correctly...note NOTCH location.

Here are a few helper pics...  Keep EVERYTHING clean on reassembly and use ASSEMBLY OIL on any and all contact surface to prevent 'dry start' of freshly finished parts. (Thats the red oil you see.)

Here are the other parts still working on them. How do the last two look?

As long as you get out the deep scores and gouges...good to go.  You don't need a mirror finish on these parts...just a dull buff is good.  As for spring tension load.... Collectively between the material removed from the piston slippers, the thrust washer, and the base of the cylinder block, there MAY have been enough material removed to lessen the spring tension.  To compensate for this (maybe an overkill) I usually cut open an alum beer can (have a few) and cut out a shim (or 2) to just undersize of the thrust washer and install that shim BEHIND the washer.  Shim is out of the way and is stationary so as not to interfere with any movement or rotation...it just sits there.

Thanks for all the help.  I have one question, what kind of beer is best for the shim?

Since it's just a shim, any LIGHT beer will work!

Coors Light has the most malleable aluminum.  I know because after 4 or 5, I can STILL hand-crush them.

I had a GT 14 years ago. Really liked it but sold it. It was before I found RS. I thought it was strange that a sudden feeling of relief came over me when it left!

Ok got most of pieces done and cleaned and bagged, so that stay clean.

Next pump housing,  can I just pull gears and leave bearing in, clean in kerosene, blow compressed air to  dry reassemble? Oh see scratch (in red) someone's been here before, what do you think

Never went into the gear pump side of a hydro.  I leave them alone.   Mine seem to work, clean up the piston pump end but I leave the gear pump alone.  Cna't say what the scratch could cause.  Was it leaking before??

Don't know if it leaks, parts tractor, sat for about 15 years that I know of.

Reason I want to take pump apart is trans fluid has turned to a strawberry jelly like muck, just want to flush everything, clean clean clean, next Is lift valve and lift cylinder, hoses
