ebinmaine 63,607 #29 Posted January 21, 2019 Keeping in mind I haven't yet had the pleasure of removing a steering wheel... Where and at what angle does that pin set? Metal and plastic would likely have very different expansion rates. Could it have fallen out, outside in the cold? Then a tight fitting wheel allowed you to drive back in. Warm up. Metal and plastic change size and....

ebinmaine 63,607 #31 Posted January 21, 2019 I just turned 48 last month. I can relate to that already as well. That can't be a good sign for me. Sometimes I think I'm such a fruitloop if I actually did get Dementia nobody around me would have a clue. 1

Sarge 3,462 #35 Posted January 22, 2019 I deal with the pin Fairy the easy way - let people come over and metal hunt on the property with their equipment - the agreement is this, "you can hunt all you like, but pick up and return any steel parts you find - I may need them". The last guy that was here gave me 5 cotter pins, 4 clevis pins and a whole pile of hairpins and bolts/nuts out of his keeper bag. It was nice, I just kept working on the truck while he retrieved my hardware. Sarge

boovuc 1,090 #37 Posted January 27, 2019 I'm with you Squonk! My hands feel like I hand polished 200 rounds of empty brass after mowing or plowing using a tractor with the skinny steering wheel! Call Phil Swift over to spray some Flex Seal in that collar.
