Okay Explain this to me

I replaced the steering wheel on my C-160. I wanted the thicker wheel for my arthritic hands. The old one was held on with a screw and nut so it came off easy. The new wheel with the rubber coating wouldn't allow the screw to work again. so I used a clevis pin with the flanged head . And it was a tight fit462219454_plowchains002.JPG.066921c6660169ae26d6509986c9e527.jpg.57f8de6411215760081b6994f235b2ec.jpg

It wasn't long enough to secure it with a cotter pin

I put the pin so with the wheel straight the flanged end was on top and it was a snug fit. I used the tractor a few times with no issues.

Fast forward to this storm Harper. On Thursday I moved tractors around and put the C160 with blower to the front of the line. I drove it out side, left it running for a while then parked it. While parking it a frt tire came off the rim. Got it fixed and thought I had my glitch for this storm BUT NOOO! :(

Came out today to plow started the tractor up and NO STEERING!!!! :bitch::bitch::bitch:Pin is gone nowhere to be found. How the heck did I drive the tractor back in the shop, move it to fix the tire and park it again, with the wheels straight but the pin is gone? Lucky for me I have a drawer full of those pins and was going in a couple of minutes but GEEEZ!!!

Pin dropped out as you parked it. Maybe on the ground or in the bowels of the tractor. :confusion-shrug:

Probably fell out when you used the steering wheel for a grab bar when you dismounted the horse.    Look in your cowboy boots for the pin.

Wheel was straight, pin can't fall out with the flange on top

It's being reported the construction of the Chinese base on the dark side of the moon may cause short periods of negative gravity.

I don't know, the whole thing sounds troublesome to me. You may need to sell the old girl. I always have room for another C160. ;)

Not too sure I would want to be 60 again.  :confusion-confused:     I was working then and didn't care that much for my job.   61 would be fine, that is when I retired!      :woohoo:
