Work Horse GT 1100 Brake Spring

Recommended Posts

funjoh

I am putting a GT 1100 back together and would like to know where the brake spring goes on the right side of the frame.  It is shorter stout spring and I did not take the unit apart, so I need a little help.

Thanks,

John

leThere are two springs on the brake system. The larger return peddle spring goes from a hole in front just below the stepped flat bar to a hole in the bottom of the hood stand.  The smaller spring goes from a hole in the parking brake handle to a hole in the hood stand also.

iI just pulled the ratty ole GT1100 I’m building for Emory’s Christmas this year into the basement.  I took a pic of the brake spring.  Kind of a cruddy picture.  Hope it helps.

It's a little confusing the clutch shaft runs inside of the brake tube.
