funjoh 0 #1 Posted November 30, 2018 I am putting a GT 1100 back together and would like to know where the brake spring goes on the right side of the frame. It is shorter stout spring and I did not take the unit apart, so I need a little help. Thanks, John
Lee1977 6,245 #2 Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) leThere are two springs on the brake system. The larger return peddle spring goes from a hole in front just below the stepped flat bar to a hole in the bottom of the hood stand. The smaller spring goes from a hole in the parking brake handle to a hole in the hood stand also. Edited December 1, 2018 by Lee1977
dells68 7,494 #3 Posted December 1, 2018 iI just pulled the ratty ole GT1100 I’m building for Emory’s Christmas this year into the basement. I took a pic of the brake spring. Kind of a cruddy picture. Hope it helps.

Lee1977 6,245 #6 Posted December 1, 2018 It's a little confusing the clutch shaft runs inside of the brake tube.
