The Tuul Crib 7,332 #1 Posted November 25, 2018 The last few times I have started my 414-8 It is clicked and clicked when I turn the key then it would start. To me it sounds like I might be having problems with the starter. Not really sure what it might be. Any ideas?

KC9KAS 4,741 #4 Posted November 25, 2018 Definitely sounds like a bad, loose, or corroded connection!

Tractorhead 8,611 #9 Posted November 27, 2018 First check all electrical connections, mostly a scruffy connection to + or ground is the reason for. Depending of type of starter it give 2 posibillities. a gear, that snaps up while powering , lifted by a release fork. a gear that snaps while starter torques. if not dismount the starter frome Engine and verify, if startergear moves easy while powering. (take care of torque of starter while powering) if startergear don't moves easy, use MOS2 spray on startergearshaft. just my 2 cents
