engine parts supplier

I have a 1977 C-160 Auto. 16hp Kohler. I am not finding good suppliers for parts to rebuild engine. Can someone post a link or two for quality engine parts to rebuild. I plan on new rings and possible bore.

Many of us have had good results with rebuild kits on :techie-ebay:. Another good source is Jack's. https://www.jackssmallengines.com/?gclid=CjwKCAiAz7TfBRAKEiwAz8fKOExD7NvuAVHCaMWxo_vBiM0In9GaJf8Jfc8AOdHQmYgHyx_bWmd3MhoCZDkQAvD_BwE

I have just finished what I believe is my 7th (maybe 8th?) rebuild using the Chinese rebuild kits off the bay. I sorta cringed on the first 2-3 times trying them, but now I just get on the bay and find an inexpensive and free ship and go.

I have not done a rebuild with a rebore. I buy one of these horses that has been sitting many years and just to satisfy my curiosity on the condition of the engine, I'll tear it down and inspect everything and go back up with - usually - a new piston/rings and rod. So far .... I havent run upon one that needed boring.

I also have been using isavetractors for some time now. He offers a master rebuild kit that includes all the necessary components for a complete rebuild. Just as a word to wise be careful with any aftermarket carburetors. Yes they are a nice easy fix and I have had good success with most of them. Now that being said, the tiny screws that hold the butterflies in place need to be remove and treated with lock tight before you install the carburetor. I had one on the throttle side come out. And you can imagine that did.

Great, I didn’t expect so much feed back. This looks like a great site. I introduced myself in new members as asked. Thanks and wish me luck.
